Brianne McInnes | 
Northeast Agriculture Research Foundation | Operations Manager

Presentation: "4R Management: Can split applications be managed in malt barley to reduce risk and maintain yield and quality?"

Bio: Brianne has been working for the Northeast Agriculture Research Foundation since the spring of 2018. She began  working for NARF as the Research Assistant, but has since been promoted to the Operations Manager since the  spring of 2021. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Saskatchewan in 2018  and became a Certified Crop Advisor in the winter of 2020. Brianne is also a professional agrologist with the  Saskatchewan Institute of Agrologists. Throughout her time at NARF she has enjoyed getting to conduct and  develop crop research and demonstration trials, while working collaboratively with other AgriARM sites, commodity groups, private groups and various industry stakeholders. 


Dr. Joseph Jensen | Assistant Professor | Montana State University 
Presentation: "Optimizing Nitrogen Inputs to Reduce Scope 3 Emissions in Barley Production" 

Bio: Joe grew up on a ranch in central Montana, where he developed a strong understanding of agriculture systems and a desire to help farmers working in these systems. From high school into college, he worked at the Central Agriculture Research Center and ultimately became a PhD student under Dr. Sherman. Jensen received his Ph.D. in Plant Sciences at Montana State University in 2024 and is currently the agronomist at MSU’s Northwestern Ag Research Center in Kalispell, Montana. Joe’s current research involves integrating new winter crops into the Montana cropping system, focusing on winter barley and winter canola.
