Baselining Barley Workgroup

The American Malting Barley Association (AMBA) Sustainability Committee commissioned their Baselining Barley project in 2025, the first industry-wide collaborative effort to articulate the environmental impact of barley production. This effort seeks to establish a baseline and identify a path forward to track continuous improvement throughout the industry. The need for such an effort was a leading priority for many AMBA member companies seeking to achieve various sustainability related goals.
