Bacterial Leaf Streak Research Initiative Conference

We invite you to join us for the 4th Annual Bacterial Leaf Streak Meeting from April 9th-11th 2025, at the University of Minnesota’s St. Paul Campus. The meeting will run for a half day on April 9th (afternoon session), a full day on April 10th, and a half day on April 11th (morning session).

This year the meeting will be expanded to include a hands-on diagnostic workshop, a career panel discussion, a special working session to discuss the creation of an updated Bacterial Leaf Streak protocol manual, and an evening social event on April 10th. We are working on confirming our invited speakers; the finalized schedule of events is forthcoming. Meeting details will be shared on our website: blsresearch.org.

You can register for the meeting here. The deadline for registration is Friday March 14th. This year the conference registration fee is $55 and can be paid by credit card or EFS string (UMN employees only). Non-UMN attendees will be asked to create a user account in the registration process.

Please submit your abstract for an oral presentation here. We are hoping to showcase the talent and diverse research that is happening in our community and welcome talks from PIs, researchers, industry representatives, students and postdocs. Additionally, we are excited to announce that we have received funding this year through a USDA conference grant that will allow us to offer 10 trainee travel awards of $500 each to support the attendance of graduate students and postdocs. To apply for a travel award, please submit 1) an abstract for a 10 minute oral presentation, 2) a letter of recommendation from your PI, and 3) a half page personal statement describing how your attendance will contribute to your career goals in the abstract submission form. Deadline for abstract submission is Friday March 7th.
