Presentation: "Baselining Barley: Evaluating the environmental impact of malting barley grown in the United States"

Neil studied soil science at Newcastle University, where he graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, majoring in crop ecology, eco-system modelling and soil microbiology. He started a private consultancy company in 1986 and his services have been actively engaged on farming, food and nutrition projects around the world. Neil is technical lead on agricultural soil carbon accrual for the Future Food Solutions B-Carbon Program, which was selected as a finalist for the COP26 Climate Challenge Cup;  presents the popular “Soil Safari” and “Farming, Food and Climate Change” virtual field events; and is the author of a number of publications, including the Carbon Farming Manual and the Good Soil Guide, an online reference and knowledge-sharing platform for farmers sponsored by Yorkshire Water, which currently has subscribers in over thirty countries.
