Von Ebert Brewing joins AMBA to strengthen their connections in the barley supply chain

AMBA would like to formally welcome Von Ebert Brewing, based in Portland, Oregon, as their newest associate member. Von Ebert Brewing, founded in 2018, derives its name from co-owner Tom Cook’s great-grandmother, Ebert, who was noted to be the guiding force of his immigrant family when they came over from Germany to the United States in the early 1900s. With their two brewing locations in Portland, they have produced several award-winning beers despite their short time in operation.

When asked their motivation for joining AMBA, Sam Pecoraro, head brewer at Von Ebert, mentioned their desire to seek out resources to stimulate continued improvement in the quality of the products they produce. After their positive experience with the Hop Quality Group, they felt AMBA was a natural next step. “With this membership, we’re looking to grow our knowledge of malting barley varieties, make stronger connections along our supply chain, learn from other members, and eventually give value back to the organization,” shared Pecoraro.

AMBA is excited to bring on new members, like Von Ebert, which furthers our mission to encourage and support production of an adequate supply of high quality malting barley for our various end-user members. This is accomplished by building a network of engaged barley interests so that the best available research informs the development and production of the U.S. malting barley crop.
